Default Rain affects peformance?

So i had to get to Texas today from louisiana. Well it rained ALOT to say the least. Well my bike was good for the first 20 miles but once the rain started to come down my bike seemed to want and die. It started sputtering. I would pull over restart the bike and rev it a bit and it would be fine for another twenty mins or so. When the rain stopped my bike ran like a champ. The only thing i could think of was i was getting a small amount of water in my carbs and it was flooding my plugs. any ideas?

do you still have the stock paper air filter ? eccesive water and heavy fog or humidity can impede air flow cociderably. i think your problem is pretty normal, these conditions affect our hi performance machines. I hate riding in the rain. peace

Currently there is no air filter in there. Just some make shift port covers till my air filter gets here. The K&N one i had killed the peformance on my bike. Wierd i know. As far as the wires they are all good. It runs great through heavy fog/mist (<1/8 mile vis) and it runs great in good weather. It just sucked in heavy rain. haha
