Default Question about chain

Hey guys... I recently busted my chain which was size 530. So i ordered an RK Quick Acceleration kit with size 520 chain. it adjusted my sprokets from 15/43 to 14/43 loosing one tooth in the front.

my question is this: What am i going to have to do inorder to install this package? (Tire comes off, plastics come off) I have never done this before, so please try to give details. also on the back of the swing arm where the wheel mounts there is a small diagram that shows a line that says new chain then a blue box then another line that says replace chain. I know when i start off fresh i should be in the new position, but when do i adjust that bolt?

Thanks for the info.

What am i getting into CBR forum i have no idea.

If anyone is interested I can give directions on how to intergrate the tail light with a Uhaul trailer kit.... it worx great.

you'll have to take the wheel off to change sprockets anyway. I would move the adjusters all the way in so you'll have a lot of room to play with in the chain. Its been a few years since i got rid of my F2, but i dont think you have to take any plastics off except the cover over the front sprocket and a chain guard if you still have that. More than likely the chain will come with a connecting link and a clip. When you get the chain on adjust the adjusters back out until the chain has about an inch of up and down movement This is the proper amount of slack. After you have this amount of slack, THEN i'd look at the adjusment marks and make minor adjustments until they are even. Dont mind the predetermined markings on where it should be for a new chain. Always keep that amount of slack in the chain throughout the life of the chain. Adjust as necessary. Hope that helps.

Wht the cbr comes with a 15/43 sprocket if your interested i have two rear and one front. I also have the chain it comes with a 530.. (missing the masterlink) the sproket set is in good condition.

I did my first 520 conversion ever it went smoothly.
Now for my question. when measuring the 1inch to 1 3/8inch slack on the chain where should i measure from. the front sprocket, center, or near the rear sprocket?

thanks.

Wht i am not lookin to make money pay for the shippin and they are urs. I am not going to use them anyway... guess today is ur lucky day... but I would consider this. for about $200 you can get a 520 race conversion. that might not be a benefit for u, but the chain new is like $80.

peace.
