Default Petcock question

If you have the gas tank off and level in its normal position, if you turn the gas on or to reserve, is some supposed to continuously come out? Like a constant trickle or something?

no. our petcocks are vacuum actuated. fuel wont flow unless you have vacuum. if you have a trickle, you have a leak.

Oh ok, thank you for the reply, I'm guessing my 900 has a leak then cause fuel flows out of it with the tank off of the bike and the petcock on

ah, then yes you're running a vacuum actuated petcock. your best bet (to save money) is to take apart the petcocks and see if everything looks ok inside. if you take your tank off and leave the petcock in the on position, fuel isn't supposed to come out.
