another petcock question
ok guys srry for all the petcock questions but i just want to not screw this up i took my petcock off tonight to check the diaphragm its shot like i thought thats not my problem though the issue i am having is that there is suppose to be a screen on the long part that goes into the tank and its not there what do i do for filtering the fuel? i have heard both to put a inline fuel filter on and that i should not put one on witch is it lol someone said the inline filter would make too much restriction on fuel flow thanks for the help
Personally, I'd go and buy the screen for the petcock. You'll avoid a lot of cursing and headache. I wouldn't recommend cutting up your stock fuel lines to fit in a inline filter. If you mess up, it's going to be a pain buying a special fuel line from the dealer. If I remember, the fuel line on the F2 is at a 90 degree angle. Plus, you'll never have to worry about replacing filters. Those inline filters tend to get clogged over time. Never have I had to replace my oem screen on my 92 F2. I had a bad experience installing a inline filter on my Rebel 450 because it's way too cramped under the tank. It was impossible to place a filter in there because it's too tight and I got too many kinks. In the end, I went to to dealer and bought the OEM fuel line + screen filter. I would avoid the inline filter at all costs lol. Just my 2 cents.
