ok guys here is another one plz help
so i have a ticking or rattling whatever you want to call it trying to figure out if it is the CCT this is a link to the video
want to figure this out soon so if it is the CCT i can order a manual one thanks guys
After the initial inspection, at 600 miles, the next interval, for inspecting the vale clearance, is 16,000 miles - whether or not that it as an easy job or not, is based on your knowledge and mechanical skills, so that's not an easy question to answer... the process is from section 3-5 to 3-9 in the Honda Service manual, check it out and see if you think you've got the chops and tools to get it done.
I will add, that most of the time, if the bike has been well maintained, the valve clearance is still in spec, at the 16K interval.
On the noise, though it's hard to be dead-on, based on the vid, but it sounds like it could be the CCT - if the seems to dissipate somewhat when you rev it, then get loud again when you let off the throttle, then that is most likely the source of the noise - often times the sound is described as nuts and bolts rattling in a steel can.
You could keep riding, but bear in mind, that if this thing does get worse, and the cam chain is allowed to get even looser than it might already be, you could end up with one or more "dropped valves", resulting in all kinds of serious engine damage.
Just to put it out there, the truth is, I personally don't recommend a manual CCT for anyone that is not very mechanically inclined, as it does require periodic adjustment, unlike the OEM hydraulic tensioner.
Bottom line, it's totally your call, as well you know, just be aware of what could happen... I'd hate to see you with a new boat anchor in the form of your F2 motor!!
