It's kinda nice. The only problem I have after I go over something myself, is that I become excessively paranoid. Somehow after I see something complex and work on it, my brain suggests about 2,000 possible failure points and resulting catastrophic situations, and plays them back to me while I'm riding my bike. All the time. It gets annoying.

I also feel like something is more "mine" when my wrenches have touched every single fastener on the bike, bar none.

If you need any more help, I gotcha.

Thanx. I know exactly what you mean. Ive done so much to this bike that I started thinking about how many things I couldve messed up. I keep thinking Im gonna ride down the road and its gonna just fall apart into a million pieces. But its great to show people a before and after pic of the bike and hear there reactions. Nobody thought it would ever be a functioning bike when they first saw it, and I just kept telling them to wait and see. Now they all want to buy it, haha.

So I assume that its the o-rings in the cooler that have gone bad. I replaced the 2 that go on the collars that are inside the block but forgot about the other two on the collar. Could this be the cause of the oil leak. Ive also noticed that the coolant is mixing in the oil, which is another reason I thought it was the o-rings. Im praying its not a head gasket. Any advise or help?

I just have a little question for you.. Can I remove the oil cooler unit without remove the pipes... Thanks.

According to the manual, removing the exhaust is not required.

Thank you so much for your reply... It sounds like I'm good to go.. I've been studying it for a day or two... And saying to myself that"ll come out of there... Sometimes taking the pipes off older bikes can be a nightmare as I'm sure you know... So thanks for the confirmation... Most helpful...
Thanks.

Do a Google search for the PDF of the shop manual. It will walk you through the process.

Default Oil cooler parts

If you took the oil cooler apart, anyplace that there was an "O" ring, it should have been replaced. As for the coolant and oil mixing, yes, it's highly possible that "O" rings are the cause. Because coolant is used to cool the oil in a heat exchanger type of process, it's easy for the two to mix. Are you finding oil in your coolant, or coolant in your oil ?. I would suggest replacing all of the "O" rings.

where do I find the parts to fix my oil cooler having the same problem and can’t find parts for it
