Yeah I have used the supertech 7313 filter and it works.. For 2 bucks i would say its not bad at all! I have run Rotella In all of my bikes and cars, I've never had an oil related problem with any of them..

do you measure the oil level with the dipstick screwed in or leave it out??? my bike says its full when screwed in but at the low mark when its not screwed. i dont wanna add to much but i definitely dont wanna ride to low either

You measure the oil level when the bike is sitting straight up, and you just drop the dipstick in. Screwing it in will give an inaccurate measurement.

The most important thing to check (other than the viscosity and heat range of course) is that you don't have what manufactures called a high mileage or high efficiency oil. These often have ingredients like Molybdenum that will cause your clutch to slip. Otherwise, running automotive oil is fine. I run Rotella 5W-40 Synthetic in my CBR and all my other 4 stroke water-cooled bikes. It's cheap and good. I know the ninja 250 folks swear by it and get 10's of thousands of miles outta their bikes with this oil.

Here's a link on a viscosity test of automotive and moto specific oils in bikes. You can spend the extra $2-5 a quart if you like, but I don't see the point.
