Just talked to my buddy. I guess autozone gets stuff too now days eh? With this were do you get your filters? Just order them off from online? I don't want to go to a bike shop and get the marked up prices. I am a mechanic and I know how places like that do it for a car and its the same with a bike I am assuming.

Now I know people will say synthetic but whats your guys opinion. On a car I think its personally a waste but seeing if its like that for you guys as well on a bike or not. Great longer intervals but I will be changing it every 3k as a car.

The way I see it, seeing as on a bike you share the same oil for the engine with the transmission, the added benefit of synthetic is worth while, imo. The shearing effects on oil in these engines is very high, thus you need a HDEO (heavy duty engine oil).
As for the filter, I believe that site has a filter conversion chart which lists automotive filters that will work in your bike. The Walmart Supertech filters a good quality, and many owners use them with good results. Personally, I prefer the NAPA 1358 (WIX), motorcycle specific filter, simply because they list the flow rate as higher than that of car filters (less resistance), which equates to better circulation & more efficient cooling, imo. But it's all about preference.

Is it possible that full synthetic can make our clutches slip? With this I only have 18k on the bike and it slipping and the guy I bought it from put in full synthetic.

Your clutch will slip with NON motorcycle specific oil.

It will also slip if the clutch is worn out.

Mileage is irrelevant, how the bike is ridden will determine the life of such things as clutches.

So looking online and it sounds like that some of the automotive oil filters work for the motorcycles as well?

Walmart Supertech ST7317
Bosch 3323
Mobile 1 M1-110

Is this true that I could use these above from a auto parts store and put it on my bike?
