what should the normal coolant temp be? on my 94 600, it normally runs at about 1/4 of the gauge while riding, but when i get caught up in stop and go traffic and such, i've noticed the guage climbing up higher than im really comfortable with. it will go up about halfway, sometimes a little further, and that just doesnt seem normal to me. do these bikes have a coolant fan? i just bought the bike and its getting hot here, thats when i noticed the gauge getting higher. coolant level is good, i assume the bike has an electric fan, but i cant ever hear one running. should it be coming on at those temps or is it normal for it to get that high? thanks for the help.

 

Yup gets a little high before the cooling fan kicks in....not really meant to be sitting around running.

 

I dont have my guages anymore, just a Veypor HUD so I have no clue how high my temp gets. I can say it is hot because I can feel the heat on my legs but I have had no issues. I would say you are fine as long as you still have coolant in the reservoir.

 

ok thanks, i just dont want to mess it up by running it hot or anything. just seems to be getting way to hot in my opinion.
