New to bikes, just picked up an F2
hi everyone!
so i'm new to bikes, i've been working on cars for about 7 years
i just picked up a 93 F2, with 20K on it
it has some problems, the second gear shift fork is bent, the stator is bad, and the fairings were all zip tied on to it
so my question begins at, where can i find all the proper nuts/bolts/clips i need for my fairings, and other body panels?
secondly, where might i be able to buy a transmission rebuild kit at?
and are there any aftermarket parts, such as jet kits, a different header...etc. that are available?
and my last question, is there any place i can get a stator rather cheap? the local motorcycle shop wants $400?!?!?!?!
thanks in advance for any help guys!!
and happy riding!

try this site: www.bikebolts.com They sell complete bolt kits for all kinds of bikes. I picked up a set for mine, and it had everything. It should run you about $40 plus shipping. You can even get them in different colors to match your bike.

Cant help on the fairing bolts, others seem to have that covered though. The F2 is an EXCELLENT bike to own, aside from the regulator/rectifier and stator issues. To locate a stator, check ebay, and maybe someone here parting one out may have one. I think an F3 may fit, but you'll want to crossreference the part # on bikebandit, ronayers or such a site first to confirm this. test your regulator when you replace the stator, as they're known for going bad.
For a CBR like the F2, I think the stock headers are actually better than aftermarket. my F has some aftermarket crap on it, and they look like garbage. stock are painted with a decent paint that wont just let them rust away, and they flow plenty well for street use. an aftermarket can wouldnt hurt if you want a different sound.
