new bike, and new to riding
Whats up guys, well i'm glad to finally join the riding scene. Just bought a '91 600f2 and i love it.
Now come the concerns.. the guy i bought it from said it sat for the better part of a year and wasn't ridden very much.
I've put in a few tanks of new premium gas already, which is my first worry..i should be getting a lot better gas mileage with this bike, but not sure what to do about it?
I changed the oil (thank god, it looked terrible) and have an air filter on the way.
The big question here is.. what else should i do, and how do i do it?
I think i'd like to do a full fluid flush and that the carbs might be really dirty.
I'm an up and coming technician for honda cars so i like to think i can do this work myself, but have no idea what i'm getting into with bikes.
So anyway, i'd just like to know how to get the most out of this bike. Any thoughts?

If you can work on a car you can work on a bike. They are SO easy once you familiarize yourself with what's going on.
What kind of gas mileage are you getting with it? I'm getting roughly 40mpg with mine. Maybe a little low, I'm not sure what they're supposed to get though.
How does the bike run? If it runs well, I'd say just enjoy it. If it doesn't, clean out the carbs and make sure the rad juice is all peachy. Check the spark plugs, etc etc etc. Just like a car really, go over everything with a fine tooth comb, make sure it's all good. If you find a problem, fix it. If not, enjoy it!

I agree with sovxietday, if you can work on a car then you can work on a bike, especially an F2. If I was you I'd clean the carbs, and sync them. You'll learn more about the bike, an add to your overall 'handiness' since you are an aspiring tech. Pick up a manual, or if you do a search on here, I think you can download one from some site. Good luck to you and hope you keep posting your experiences in the forum!
