i have a choice to either buy a 2000 kawasaki ninja 500 with 8k miles for 1500 bucks, has a few scrapes and is a lil beat up on the body and exhaust from dropping it.
shoudl i worry about the high mileage on the honda or what?? what would be a better choice?

this is also my first bike, i have driven them before but never owned them, im sure i can handle a 600 as i drove my friends well for a few hours. im more into looks so woudl the honda look better? but i also want a lil speed too, hehe

EDIT the other bike was not a cbr, it was a 1994 kawasaki ninja 600cc, i bought it for 1500 bucks, did i make a good decision, ???? it loooked much nicer and better then the 00 ninja!

 

i'd go with the CBR. if you don't buy it... let me know because i know someone who will

If the CBR is Mint. There should be no question.....$1500 I think would be a deal.

As long as it was well maitained I would stick with the CBR.

 

$1500 for the CBR is a great deal assuming that everything is in good mechanical condition also. If he's a "friend" he should be pretty trust worthy

 

Yes, if you get the f2 make sure the charging system is okay...the brake pads don't need replacing, the fluids are fresh..etc.

check the stator/rectifier-regulator and the wires...make sure they are not fried.

at that mileage...fork seals, etc... brake fluid... all those things come into play right? did he service any of those
