Default My First Bike Having Some Problems

Hello im new here to the forum and i just bought a 91 cbr 600 for my first rocket so far im loving it runs good has plenty of power and it still gets compliments..

first problem is the blinker switch seems to not work i have to manualy turn my blinkers off and its a pain to try to get that damn switch in the middle without switching the blinker to blink on the other side, how do i go about fixing this?

second witch being the most important is when i first got the bike the key wouldnt turn unless i sat on it and straightend up the bars didnt really notice untill after i bought it but anyways i was gonna bring it to work this mourning and before i left i went out to warm it up and i wanted to see if the the handle bar lock worked well it dose but now it wont undo i stick my key into it but i will not turn i have tried wigglein jigglin whatever but it wont turn tried to put some force to it but didnt want my key to break.any help would be great.

first. get another key made just in case hehe. on mine, it has a sweet spot, you have to press in on the key pretty good. and turn right. my steering lock is wicked a lot of the times too. as for your blinkers, you have to manually turn them off. thats how the bike was built. left thumb to turn them right or left, and push it in once in the middle to turn them off. gotta live with it, unless your crafty and want to fabricate something to do it for you

for your turn signal, just take it apart and clean all the plates in there. then slap some electrical grease in there and it should be good to go. i had the same problem with that and the ignition lock. i ended up doing the same thing to the lock. cleaned it off really good and added some grease to it.

YEP! Bikes aren't designed to turn off automatically like autos are.

I think what MPLScbr600 meant was that his switch will not AUTOMATICALLY return to the center so he can "push to off". I've had this problem on several Hondas before and my CBR is getting stiff. I'm going to pull the switch soon and clean and re-lube everything. It's always worked in the past for me. Just make sure you use a lube that is safe to use in an electric switch. As for your ignition switch. There's a guy on Ebay that sells replacement switches (with the round style key) for $45.

got it worked out dont think ill be using that lock again though till i get a new one in.as for the blinkers i really dont know about it some people that have owned bikes told me their suppose to return to the center after the turn was made.but its not really a big deal to turn them off but everytime i goto turn em off it switches to the other side its a real touchy switch has to be perfect for it to turn off completely but ill probally just look into geting a new one.

thanks for all your replys and help!
