When im in 1st or 2nd and i give it some quick throttle my bike is kinda jerkey. It acts like there is slack in the drive train.

Ive replaced both sprockets (-1 front, +2 back) and the chain. It didnt help at all. Is this just a factor with an older bike or are all bikes like this..

You should have about 1" play in your chain..

I have about 1/2-3/4" play, is this my problem? Seems like more the play the more jerkey it will be.

 

Anyone else have an idea why its so jerkey feeling?

If i give the throttle a little wrist action (multiple times) its pretty jerkey.

 

well i dont know i you ever rode other bike like a newer bike i have few bikes and i have a vmax and the f2 fell slugish in comparation whit my max but have to think is a 16 year old bike so you will not have wrist ligthing fast reaction end of the discution if you want a fast reaction bike get a newer one may be injected bk

 

Well its in the drivetrain, maybe your right though. Its just in first gear anyways.

 

i think its the gearing. i have the same gearing set up and its the same in 1st and 2nd

 

I think your right, I dont remember it being like that when I had the stock setup.
