the mod: extra ground for regulator?
I've noticed when I ride my 92 f2 and I'm not high in the rpms.... say there is traffice and I don't get over 3k rpm. When I stop then go to restart the bike the batery is dead. I push start it and I don't see the problem again until I've sat in traffic and stoped and started it.
Basicly I'm thinking this would be the signs of a bad regulator. But back when I was active on the forums more I remember it being said from a honda tec that the ground for the regulator was too small. So, it was suggested to run a ground from a regulator bold to a solid and sanded part of the frame. Do people still suggest this?
I know probably what I need to do is a volt test on the battery but thoughts still.....
I'd also heard that if the bike isn't over 3k then the stator isn't charging the battery.

It's true that the stator does not charge the battery at idle. I have not heard anything about modifying the OEM RR, but as soon as it burns out I would replace it with an aftermarket RR, or a GSX-R RR...for better heat dispersion. You can test your RR to make sure it isn't frying your battery (causing it to discharge)...but you may just need a new battery. (you can have that tested too at an autoparts store).
