Lowering Suspension on 93 F2
My girlfriend picked up an old 93 F2 yesterday so she can ride with me, and to have a cheap bike to learn on. We need to lower it a little for her height, but I dont have a manual for it or know how to work the adjustments. Are there any manuals available online or can you guys walk me though how to get the suspension lowered (especially the rear shock)?
Thanks!

Easy, simple, and cheap way would be to buy a lowering link for the rear, either a fixed one w/pre-drilled holes (1", 2", 3", etc) or an adjustable one. Fixed ones are cheap .... around $40 or so (check ebay). Adjustable ones are available @ spencercycle.com
Lowering the front you should be able to slide the forks thru the triple at least a good inch.
My 92 is stock rear and lowered almost 1" up front, partially due to the 120/70 tire instead of the 120/60, partially to quicken the semi-sluggish steering nature inherrent w/F2s.
Works for me!

RE: Lowering Suspension on 93 F2
I have a '92 f2...and the previous owner I think took out some fork oil so he could stunt it-- I rescued her after he did only one or two wheelies i think.
Anyway, now the bike drops like 1 - 1 1/2 inches when you take it off the sidestand... so it's lower than normal.
I wouldn't recommend taking fluid out to lower the bike tho-- it probably makes the bike handle worse.

Yeah see all the other stuff mentioned implies changing the suspension RATES, something that may not be a good idea.
The lowering link in the rear just lowers the height @ which the shock sits, it doesn't "compress" it. Same w/the front forks, you just slide it thru, the internals of the fork stay unmolested.
