Default Jetting the carb Questions

Bought my F2 couple of months ago, and broke the chain. since its being serviced i figured y not do the routine maintenance, thank god i did cause my air filter looked like OJ SIMPSON.

I went right to a K&N Filter, and now i am wondering should i jet the carbs.... I have never done this before but it might be needed since i changed the type of filter. so my friends say. there is a supertrap (Crap) muff on it, and we took the baffel out.. Would anyone know what to do?

thanks

So your air filter looked guilty? Or you couldn't get your gloves over it?

Before you go rejetting I'd suggest that you try it like it is now. If throttle response is good then leave it alone. Otherwise you can probably go up a size or 2 on the main jet and maybe a 1/4 turn on the idle circuit. If you buy a jet kit (with needles, spacers and jets) then you'd need to follow the directions on how to set it up with the K&N and aftermarket exhaust. I'll warn you though, once you start farking around with the carbs it just never ends. It'll be perfect top end but the low end lags. Or midrange is good but it misses up top. Pain in the *** I tell ya ...
