Default HELP PLEASE...Speedo not working

I havea 91 F2 w/ 46,000 miles. Recently, my speedometer stopped working. The tach is still functional, but speed is always at zero.

Any ideas? Could it just be a bad speed sensor cable going to the wheel? Has anyone experienced anything similar? Is it the gauge cluster?

Thanks,

Stan

ive never had it happen (yet) but you might want to check the speedo cable that connects from the front wheel hub to the back of the instrument panel. if every thing there is fine, the plastic cogs (gears) in the instrument panel might have broken or shreded off there teeth. of course i dont know for sure but i would start with those. good luck!

the cable could have snapped in the sheathing... disconnect it from the gauge and spin the front tire.. if the inner cable spins then its not snapped...if it doesnt spin it could possibly be snapped.

look between the forks and see if there is a little cable that connects to the instruments. This used to happen to my Kawasaki..only when I did over a 100 mph though!
