HELP clutch cable broke at lever. stranded at work!
so i was pulling into work, went to drop it in first so i could park, and the lever snapped.. so i cruised into my parking spot until it stalled.
ok, it broke leaving an inch of cable attatched to the lever, and nothing sticking out the sleeve.
is there anyway i can fix this at work by adjusting the slack or something to get some wire through?

RE: HELP clutch cable broke at lever. stranded at work!
ok, so i got it in nuetral so i could move the bike, and i see that yes i can ride without a clutch, ive shifted without it, but i really dont know how to take off without it.
i did get some cable up through the sleeve, and got the old broke 1 inch off, but now i need to figure out how to fasten the cable to the lever, without having that locking peice there. thats still attatched to the broke 1 inch of wire

You need a new cable... end of story.
It's not at all bad for you to shift gears without the clutch. Just pre-load the shift lever with your foot, rev the motor, quickly let off the throttle, and the bike will shift on its own. Problem is, you can't do it from a dead stop.
