I have a 1994 CBR600 F2 that I use as a beater bike. A few nights ago I was a dumb *** and I snapped my key off in the ignition. The Honda dealership, as well all know, wants to rape me, and the local locksmith is out of business. My question... can I buy a universal ignition switch for a CBR600 off Ebay with a key? I know I can...i I understand that, but I want to make sure it will fit / work. Is there something I need to know before I buy one? Is it as simple as splicing the wires together once I get a new one? Is there anything else I need? Do I need to get a switch from a 1991-1994 CBR600 F2 specifically, or I can it come off of newer years like a 1996 or 1998? I'm sorry... I don't know anything about this. All I know is that I don't want to pay $400.00 @ Honda when I can possibly get an ignition switch off of Ebay for $50.00 Again, I need an ignition switch with a key for a 1994 CBR600 F2 ....anything special I need to know? pretty sure you can find someone in the classified section with parts for sale, or parting out an f2 that can help.that would be the first place i would check. just me.
