Default hanging idle

The bike developed a hanging idle since I last rode it. It's been down a month since I have replaced the entire braking system etc, but it has been started twice during the month period though.

When I let off the throttle to shift to the next gear, the rpm is maintained for about an additional 2 seconds before it falls as normal, thus the hanging idle.

I'm guessing it is a carb issue, just dont know what is clogged. I have never taken a carb apart before, just curious to see if anybody else has ever had this issue.

I went ahead and did the lazy thing of pouring a fuel injector/carb cleaner into my gas tank. I am going to run it through, maybe it will help, maybe not.

Maybe the throttle cable is hanging or going back slowly or the plates are stuck some how?

Or the grip is hanging up on something (like the bar end weight).

I didn't find any throttle cable hanging. The grip isnt hanging either because I dont have a bar end LMAO

I thinking its some kind of carb issue, rather than a vacuum problem

it def sounds like your throttle cables are sticking. You should try some cable lube for them to see if it gets easier. Mine sticks too and it is the cables. Also like stated before, check the throttle tube. it could be catching on the bar causing it to rotate back slowly. It doesnt sound like a carb problem thought.

you were all correct. It was a cable hanging up that I missed before. Damn I hate how well my bike runs, I can't find any reason to sell it and get another
