I got her fired up after 7 longs months of sitting. I just changed the oil for the first time in my ownership...I know its overdue......but at first the bike ran kinda rough but after it warmed up and I adjusted the idle a little it smoothed right out. Allthough after running for about 15 min. I felt the regulator...and it was extremely hot to the touch....not with my hand hovering right above it but when I put my hand on it it burnt it allmost instantly. Should I replace this? I rewired it last summer because the connection was fried....and it hasnt had any problems since...lemme know what you think

 

Sounds like the R/R could be on its last leg...do a search here, and you'll get a few ideas on what you might want to swap it out with.
