Basic things, like change oil, check all fluids, check condition of brake pads and chain, lube cables, check bulbs, etc.

How far are you going? Do you need luggage? Just a day? Consider a camelback for hydration

consider 6 inches of cushion under your ***. Sport bikes suck for road trips. I went for a 6hr trip one time up to canada and it sucked bad... so uncomfortable

If you are not riding hard, throw a couple extra pounds of air in your tires to prolong their life.

Also, tell a few people that are close to you where you're going and how long you will be gone.

If you ever do end up taking a long trip you might want to consider talking to thirdgenlxi (Jared), another member here, and picking his brain. He's taken numerous long distance trips and has well over 165,000 miles on his F4i.
