I layed down my 94 F2 two days ago ans except for some scratches on the left side the bike seemed fine. I drove the bike home about 5 miles and everything seemed fine. Yesterday I started my bike and when I went to put my bike in 1st, there was a really bad grinding noise, then it went in gear fine. I have driven about 30 miles since then and everything apears fine. Since then no more noises. Does anyone know what that noise could have been? Do you think it will come back? Thanks!

 

Only thing I can think of, if that sound went away like you said, is may be that the clutch didnt fully disengage, causing it to grind. Sometimes mine does that if I dont push hard on the shifter when the rpm's arent low going into first. You might check the shifter linkage to make sure it isnt bent. Don't lay the bike down at 130mph (from your other post.)
