Default Gas Smell

Ok, for the past few weeks (since I got the bike actually) I have noticed a rather strong gas smell coming from my bike. If I leave the gas turned on it is worse than if I turn it off. I have not yet noticed a puddle or any sign of leaking gas on my floor and my oil does not smell of gas either.

Anyone have a thought as to why I would have such a strong smell in my garage (and yes I know it's formt he bike, nothing else)?

check the petcock and see if it is leaking. Remember that it takes a small amount of gas to make a big smell. The petcock could be leaking enough to stink without the gas being enough to make it to the floor. There are lots of wires and other obstructions between the petcock and the grounds so the leaking fuel could just be accumulating on those parts under the tank.

I had a small leak coming out of the vent hose of the fuel tank. It was dripping straight onto the engine and so it would evaporate before it puddled up and dripped onto the floor. I was totally baffled because I didn't see any fuel on the floor but I could smell it. Took the fairing off and there it was: There are two "nipples" on the bottom of F2 tanks I believe (more towards the back than the petcock). I think it is the left one that was leaking. I figure that there was a pinhole created by rust that let fuel leak into the line. I used the KREEM product to totally seal the tank, but I haven't put the bike back together yet to see if that fixed it.
