front master cylinder
One of the screws for the cap on the master cylinder is stripped out. I tried drilling part of the screw and use an ez out but no dice. Anybody got a good front master cylinder for sale without stripped screws or some advice?
I am trying to bleed the brakes so I need to add fluid to the reservoir

best bet since you have already tried to drill it out may be to try and get a slot cut into the head and try to get it out with a flat head screwdriver. then (if i remember right you live in tempe correct?) head down to bobs cycles and see if you can get a replacement screw off a wrecked one.
if memory serves correctly, i dont think a dremel makes a bit small enough to cut into that screw whe way thats needed. if you want, my dad has an air powered engraving tool that i can bring by, just need to have an air compressor with a 3/8" quick-connect and a regulator. if you dont i can load mine in the truck.
i live in goodyear. pm me if you would like me to give it a go with that engraver.

I may just run over to bobs to buy a new master cylinder. I'm so sick of all of the seized/stripped out bolts the last owner left me. I guess it should be expected on a bike almost 20 years old.
If I don't have any luck finding one I will try to notch it. thanks for the idea

I should have one if you need it. I'll be parting a bike in the next week or so.

just curious... why would you replace the whole MC when all that is problematic is the screw... just seems like a waste of money/effort. just wondering if there is another underlying problem or not?
