Flywheel Removal
Any tips on removing the flywheel (that's what Bike Bandit calls it: http://www.bikebandit.com/partsbandi..._id~187997.asp ) ?
It's the part that goes around the stator.

The "new" engine I bought from the salvage yard was totally stripped, so I have to move all my old parts over. I've got everything else swapped over and the engine in the bike, I just need to get this last big piece done and I can ride!
Thanks!

RE: Flywheel Removal
i havent had mine off and actually looked but you might need some type of puller for it. if you remove the center bolt you might be able to work it loose carefully. if not then you need a puller. as for what kind i dont know ive never worked on bike engines before. just cars.

Yeah, I need one of these tools

I tried my gear puller, but that didn't work out at all.
Of course, I had to try this on a Sunday when no bike places are opened so I'm headed to a shop tomorrow to buy the right tool.
I'm in the same boat as you - I've torn apart a number of V8's, but this is my first foray into tinkering with a bike.

RE: Flywheel Removal
if you can find a bolt that fits the threds inside the center of the flywheel, that would work. just keep twisting the bolt untill the flywheel pops off. the tool you need is i tnink 60 dollars. i just tryed to find my manual to tell you the part number for the tool. but i think you would be better of trying to find the bolt as it would be way cheaper.
