f2 running rough low rpm
hey guys, i'm workin on my wifes 94 f2. the bike sits quite a bit, but never more than 3 months or so. so we pulled it out a couple weeks ago, it fired right up, turned the choke off(after it warmed up a bit) and blaahhh. dead. got it to started again, but it didn't want to stay running. so that was the end of that trip. next day i changed the inline fuel filter, pulled apart and cleaned the petcock. put it back together and it's running. idles ok( a little lumpy but ok) comes off a stop sign like a dog. almost feels like its going to die. once past that the thing takes off like a batt outta hell.
today i yanked the carbs off, cleaned the crap out of the pilot jets, but it's still doing the same damn thing. i know its tough to diagnose problems without seeing or hearing the problem. but any ideas? i've put a lot of money and time into this bike, but i'm ready to burn it to the ground.

If it runs great in upper RPMs it is a carb thing for sure. Clean them more thoroughly, not just the pilot jets but everything. Were there any changes done to the bike since last ridden? If it rode perfect before, nothing was changed, and it sat for 3 months... its the carbs.
I already cleaned the crap out of the pilots.
there have been no mods since the last time she rode it. just sitting. so iguess i'm gonna have to dig a little deeper into the carbs. i jsut don't know what else in the carbs would be causing this sort of problem. also, I don't have much experience pulling them apart. i guess it's time to learn. if i tear them all the way down i'm going to have to have them syncronized, right?
thanks guys!

You say no mods since last time ridden, but any mods at all? Check the spark plugs too, how do they look?
You don't have to tear them totally apart and won't need a sync, though it doesn't hurt if you know someone with the gauges that can do it free.
Check the carb cleaning sticky at the top of the F2 forum.
The only thing I forgot to write up in there that is a good idea is to pull out the pilot screws and clean in there too. I can say that I am 99.9% sure that it is a pilot or float problem you are having. sounds more like pilot though.
