Default F2 is running better than ever!

Not sure why, but after cleaning the carbs for the 3rd time in 2 weeks, the bike is running great now.

The first time I cleaned the carbs, the bike would finally start, but still wasnt quite right in the higher RPMs. So i ripped everything apart again, and after cleaning and putting everything back together, it was running HORRIBLE, both at low and high RPM.

Discouraged, I figured i will give it one more shot, and now it is running better than it ever has. Wish I knew exactly what I did to correct the problem, but I dont.

Anyway, glad its running great now! Thank God!

Well... did you blast out the jets with air and what not? Also, perhaps you accidentally pinched the diaphrams when reassembling and this time didn't?

Either way, glad you're better off from it all!

One thing I realized that I did DIFFERENTLY the last time I put everything back together (no idea if this was a big deal or not), is that these 2 tubes (green arrows...not sure what they are called) were BELOW the sub filter the first 2 times I put things back together (as shown in this photo), and I realized they should be ABOVE the sub filter in the indentations in the air box.

Was that the magic that made things work? No idea.

Default UPDATE: A new problem

Haven't ridden the bike in a few weeks, and yesterday I started it up and it was running like crap again. I was PISSED....but anyway. Eventually, I realized that it wasnt getting gas. So I took the tank off thinking the petcock was hosed or something, and I noticed that there was a vacuum line that was not connected to the carb port. Somehow the line had come off (no idea how). Once I reconnected it, buttoned everything back up, it started immediately and is running amazing again.

Anyway, just wanted to give this headsup incase someone else is having the same problem. Sorry for the crappy iphone photo.

That's funny you mention that because I had some work done to my bike, running like a champ, and the R/R or stator went out on me last night on the highway. EFF!
