All ***** can help you with the bearing sizing - here's a poorly formatted chart that basicaly says with their new bearings, you could make the steertube and yokes fit, but it does not account for steerer length - you'll have to make sure the R6 steerer will in fact make it through your F2 headtube and be long enough to spin the head bearing adjuster nuts on and everything:

Top Bearing Set Bottom Bearing Set
Make Model Year ID OD Width Top Bearing ID OD Width Bottom Bearing
Honda CBR600F2 1991 26 47 15 99-3520-5 30 55 17 99-3519-5

Yamaha YZF-R6 2006 30 47 12 99-3540-5 31 55 18 99-3538

Yamaha YZF-R6 2005 30 47 12 99-3540-5 30 55 17 99-3519-5

Thanks for that. I was wondering. the fork radius for the R6 is 43mm and the fork radius for the CBR is 41mm.. could my yokes adapt to 43mm forks from the R6??

In short... no.

If you want better forks, while replacing pieces that don't looks so good, consider getting some F3 uppers or F2 uppers from a '94 F2, which will give you better fork internals, and more adjustment than just preload. This only applies if your fork sliders (lowers) are ok. Also, if your F2 IS a '94, then disregard the above, but you actually haven't told us what year your F2 is!!!

Now if you're just dying to do a swap to some modern USD forks, then look into the late '90's GSXR 750 front ends, or, to keep it Honda, check out finding a 954RR front end - and key words are: front end, cuz you will have to have a complete front end. Also, about this, the F2's forks are desigend to flex a bit, so if you go with a stiff USD front end, you might get better"feel", if you have the suspension dialed in, but you'll be putting more stress on the frame, so you might also think about gusseting up the frame somewhat.

hmmmm it was just an idea, as i have all the parts already. its a 93 model. i think i will look at the f3 as you described...... see this is why i like these forums. such great help.....
The frame and wheels are being blasted and painted in january, i have a blaster and sprayer that is going to spray other metals in the next week at my place of work, shame the blasting tool is not big enough to for my frame!!!, the good thing is that its not cost me much to do this project, i have people in the know how that are going to help...... probably the cheapest restoration ever.... i will tally it all up at the end!!! so far its cost £30.....

So, the forks bought from ebay are crap...... no oil, damaged springs, ect!!!! but the stanchions are in good order (not bent or pitted) so am going to buy new uprated internals made for these type of forks...
The engine is coming along, hydrocloric acid mixed with lots of water does the trick and brings back ali to its original state!!!!!! pics to follow!

JNS- i said cheap....well not really is it!! what a fool i am, but it will be worth it!!!

Well, you gotta spend something, to get anything, and at least upgrades/repairs to the F2 are considerably cheaper than newer machinery.
