Default F2 Body Help

hello all, just got my hands on a F2 from a friend who owed me money and were not really talking anymore beacuse of that fact. The bike itself is not really in bad shape at all and runs great the only thing thats wrong with it is the tail section by where the tail light is. The side tail fairings aren't locked into place where they should be. I've downloaded the service manual and the cause of the problem seems to be because the little pieces on the end that should lock into the top part of the tail light assembly arn't there. i have a picture to show what the deal is, if anyone could help get them locked in a looking right that would be great.

thanks.

I have a quad, and I had a very similar problem. Here's how I solved it. I made a little connector plate and used a clever combination of those push-in clips and some large-diameter head screws to connect them. I made an aluminum plate with 4 holes, and screwed two of the holes onto the underside of one piece of bodywork, so there was half of the plate sticking out, with two holes in it sized to work with the push-clips. I just punched two little holes in the bodywork that the plate-modded piece needed to go to, and popped the clips through the body part and into the aluminum plate. So looking at the fastened joint, you only saw four fasteners, two on one side of the body seam, and two on the other, in a square pattern. Had a very "factory" look to it, took only minutes, and was probably way stronger than the stock clippy deal.
