Never tried it on my CBR, but on my car I do it all the time (yes, its a honda ).
Once you get into the habit of it and learn the engine/transmissions rpm's its a breeze.

Upshifting is a breeze, but downshifting takes some practicing.

On my last car I once trashed the transmission and drove nearly 100miles to
get it fixed. When I arrived the mechanic went like - What the #¤%? How did you get here?.
Starting from a standstill can be a bit bumpy though

Weather forecasts say this weekend will be nice in these parts. I will be giving this a try.
Any ballpark figures on what kind of rpm's you guys are starting the shifts at between 2-6?
Example, hit 8000 in 2nd, pressure on the shifter, drop rpms to 5000 and shifter falls into 3rd?

Which rpm you shift at doesn't really matter although lower rpms is easier.
Try it at normal cruising rpms to begin with, ie 5-6000.

Whats more important is knowing the difference between the rpms at different gears.
Shift normally with clutch to begin with then learn to know your bike and gears. Look
at the rpm dial and memorize the differences.

Well I set out this morning and once I was on the main road I gave it a go.

Ive no idea what the deal is with all this memorising rpm's. To shift up Id apply a light amount of pressure on the lever and quickly roll off the throttle. As I rolled off the throttle the bike jumped into the gear above and off I went. I found as the day went on I was able to shift faster and faster.

High rmp shifts sounded and felt terrible so I wont be doing any more of them. It feels alright upto the 8k rev mark.

I tried shifting from 1st to 2nd a few times and its an art form to get it done smoothly. Theres no point in going clutchless if youre in a hurry off the line.

I dare Ill continue to clutchless shift, I rather liked not taking my hands off my warm grip to pull the clutch in.

Wow I am totally blown away by just how smooth it went. Going from 2-6 clutchless is great. I can do 1-2 but I think I prefer clutching between those because somehow it makes sense to me that it actually goes out of gear and then back in between 1-N-2.
