Default Doing your oil change?

So today I changed the oil in my F2. I usually buy Amsoil 10w40 for which can sometimes cost over 50$ a gallon, add the 13 dollar OEM oil filter from a dealer and your looking at almost 70$ for an oil change. I decided to be a little more financially conservative this year and reading around the internet I decided to go with the Rotella T6 (Blue bottle) 5w40 synthetic for a little Over 21$ at Walmart and then a Purolator Pue One Oil Filter PL14612 (not the classic) at Advanced Auto Parts for 7$. If you have the notorious Honda CCT rattle Ive read it can quiet it down at idle since its a slightly thinner oil and goes through the tensioner easier. I dont know for mine since I installed a manual APE tensioner. But did that exact oil change after coming off my 70$ Amsoil synthetic change and it feels way smoother on shifts and a little smoother at Higher RPM's and I barely broke 29$. I would give it a shot for those in need of an up coming oil change, confused, or too up tight like I was. Its seems equal if not better compared to the pricies. Just my two cents.

1994 CBR f2
K&N Filter, Two Brothers Exhaust, Radiator fan override, APE CCT, Stock gears
16k Miles (Owned since 8K for 4 seasons now)

You don't have to sell people on cheap. People have been using Rotella T6 on all different kind of machines for years now. Besides, Rotella T6 is JASO now so it's certifiably safe for motorcycles.

TBH, the F2 doesn't call for anything beyond GN4 conventional. And, imo, Amsoil isn't very good and at $50 it's technically one of the "cheap" synthetics anyways. I tried it being I could save myself $20 on the oil and changed it in about 1000 miles because it made my gearbox feel like **** and my motor ran about 5-10 degrees hotter consistently.

Ya true not trying to sell anyone on cheap for this wasnt the cheapest oil change I could have done. I've just always had a little confusion myself everytime this came around for me and my bike. But I agree with you completely I've done the repsol, amsoil, and rotella and the Amsoil honestly felt the worst as much as I could notice. This seems to be the most convenient for me especially as far as the shifting goes.
