Sorry to hijack the thread but I feel this question will fit in here.

This has only happened about 5 times in the 2.5k miles Ive racked up on the bike since I got her. Sometimes when shifting, the bike goes into what seems like neutral. No neutral light comes on though and im pretty sure Ive been in 3rd/4th as it mostly happens when im city riding.

Anyone else get this or am I loosing it lol?

I was going to update but this is EXACTLY what happened to me twice last night. I was shifting from 2nd to 3rd and I may have not shifted hard enough and when I revved it revved WAY high almost to red line. It was rattling while this was going on. I was more concious about it and shifted harder and it didnt happen again... is this my clutch.

if it shifts hard, one advice that was given to me was to check not only the clutch lever but the clutch cable because over time it would stretch... my bike used to shift hard and clutch lever got softer and wobbly since i started riding it... turned out that my clutch cable was so stretched that it wouldnt disengage the clutch all the way to shift... and because of that, it kept popping into the wrong gear, not shifting to the next higher or lower and also popping into neutral after the light just turned green... so def check that

^^ yea do that... if you dont want to take it off... what you can do is pull in the clutch... if it is a little loose and doesnt open till you get with in 2-3cm to the handle bar, then it most likely is the clutch cable

no, the clutch lever is fine... I just pull it a cm or 2 to engage it. I think once again, it was my ****ty shifting and trying to shift too fast. Today I reaaaaly payed attention and was doing fine!

Oh ya try a oil change. It helps with shifting big time. If it feels a little stiff this might help you out as wel.
