Default Clutch cable adjustment for 93 F2??

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to know if someone could explain the proper way to adjust "in" the clutch cable on my 93 F2? The clutch does not engage until the lever is almost all the way out but seems to pull strong in every gear. I don't believe the clutch is bad....just was wondering if there was a way to bring in some slack on the cable.

Thanks all

***Also if anyone knows of websites to get Carbon Fiber parts for a 93 F2 (grips, rear hugger, bar ends, frame sliders, levers, mirrors, gas lid pad, triple tree pad, inst. cluster pad???) please let me know*** I am already aware of ebay......

as far as the clutch cable goes i don't know its got something to do with the adjuster nut that is near the clutch handle but i don't know how to properly adjust it. I bought replacement mirrors this summer and the cheapest i could find were around 25 bucks. i got the black ones but the same company offered mirros that looked like carbon fiber. so just ask the honda store.

I'm having the same adjustment problems, i've adjusted at the transmission end of the cable, wich helped alot, and brought the clutch engagement in. Adjusting at the handle merely adjusts wehere the lever will apply tension to the cable, at the trans you adjust where the cable applies tension to the clutch release. Look for about 1/4" of play in the cable. This is nothing out of a manual, just what i have found to work well, i am a suabru mechanic, still kind of a rook on motorcycles, so don't take my word for gold

Both adjustments adjust the same cable, same tension. The clutch perch adjuster is for minor adjustments and the engine-mounted adjustment is for larger adjustments. To properly adjust the clutch cable, loosen the clutch perch adjuster lock nut and turn the adjuster in until about 3-4 threads are visible. Then at the engine-mounted adjuster (on the rights side of the engine on the clutch cover), loosen the lock nuts and tighten the top nut until you have approx. 3-5 mm of play at the clutch lever before engagement of the clutches is felt. As a general rule, if you can fit a nickel snugly between the clutch lever and the clutch perch, it's adjusted correctly. Don't forget to tighten all locknuts.

Default 93 CBR changed clutch cable and now engine stalls

Hey guys I just got this bike and I'm new to these engines, so clutch was working fine but I changed the handle bars to the stock kind and for this I disconnected the clutch lever and cable so now that I put it all back together the same as it was before same adjustment and turned it on but when i engage the clutch lever and go to shift it in first gear as soon as I do it stalls and dies so I figured it needed more adjustment but still does the same thing, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Do you have the side-stand down?
