Default Charging Issues

I've had the regular charging issues..battery dies after an hour or two of riding. Today i ran through the charging system with a voltmeter and initially had a reading off the battery at 12.33V at idle and had no jump in volts after bringing it up to 5000rpm. I think checked the wiring harness by checking the voltage of the red wire and green wire in the R/R and got the same reading as before and had continuity between the green wire and the ground.
following that i found 0.3 Ohms between the 3 yellow wires and thought the R/R was the culprit. Assuming this i pulled my buddies R/R from his F2 and re-checked the voltage which ran around 12.8 at idle and 13.6 at 5000rpms...would the R/R be a safe assumption after putting the other R/R and getting a good reading?
Thanks!

I would think if you put a different rec on your bike and the charging is immediate you could chalk it up to rectifier replacement.

yep sounds like the problem. it happened to mine to except mine boiled my battery dry after a 2 and a half hour drive. it was charging it at 17 volts....ouch. i would replace it with a 05 gsxr 750 or 1000 r/r. the one with one plug and 5 wires thats what i did on mine and havent had any problems out of it yet about 400 miles later

A little follow up in case anyone is having some issues like i had. I went out and got a new R/R (a plug and play replacement that had the cooling fins) and put it on my bike today. I checked the volts coming from the battery and it was reading 14.01V which theoretically that fixed the problem. I've been riding all day and haven't had any charging issues!
