Default 01 F4i charging issues

Hi guys. I need some help with my 01 F4i's charging system. In the spring, my battery got discharged. After doing some tests, I replaced the R/R and all was well. I was getting between 14.20v to 14.40v at 5000 rpms. All was good until last week when battery got discharged again.

Voltage on battery got to low 11s. Charged it, started about 3 times, and voltage was at around 11s again. I got battery tested - but all ok. Found no resistance in R/R. So checked stator and got an unstable reading on pin 1 (jumps between 40-30 ohms then back to 1.0...pins 2 and 3 showed no resistance). So I installed brand new stator yesterday. Rode around today, started about 10 times, and voltage shows at 12.85-12.90. Revving to 5000 rpms and voltage goes up to about 12.96-13.05. With the new stator, it still seems to discharge...but a lot slower than last week.

Am I missing something here? Is it my R/R again? Help please. I'm sorry for the essay.

Default forgot to mention...

When working properly, I should get getting 13.5v - 14.5v. On new stator, I'm only getting to about 12.98v.

Sounds like the r/r has gone bad again. Since you have a new stator and a good battery, the r/r is the onlything left besides the wiring connector. It's not uncommon for a bad stator to ruin a perfectly good r/r.

Thanks 74demon. That was my guess too. Just wasn't sure if it's common that a bad stator can blow your r/r.
