Changing Frames Tips
Okay well heres what happened today.
I went back out in the garage and worked around with it, pulled all the plugs and made sure they were all starting, realigned the choke cable, and put it all together and bam! Started almost right up and ran pretty good too. But it wouldn't idle. So I said I'm done messing with the little things so I took it to a bike mechanic in the near city next to me. As soon as we got it off the truck and he started looking at it, he started to turn it over a few times (not letting it start and run) and then pulled the dipstick out and put it back in a few times and then said that I may have a crankshaft bearing that has gone out (or gone bad, however you say it). He said that their were little bits of gold in the oil and that was remains of a crankshaft bearing. He knew when he was starting it up for some reaosn, but to me, it has always sounded like that and before the engine swap, it seemed like it ran fine to me. But he said it would run until it seized up. So he doesn't know for sure but he is going to look at it and call me.
So I may have to be looking for another engine or I am SOL...It really sucks. So wish me luck guys and if you guys have any input, I'm all ears.

Do you believe him? Were there actually metal bits in the oil?
I found a replacement F2 engine for only $300 that was in great shape so your cost to replace the engine (if you do it yourself) should be fairly low.
good luck.

Well when I changed the oil there were actual metal flakes in it. I wasnt sure what that was though because I have changed oil in cars before and ran across the same thing.
Not sure if I actually believe him though he seems like he knows what he's doIng but I'm definitely going to get another mechanics opinion though.
I've started looking for engines in case though and can't find any where the seller actually knows whether or the engine runs or how many miles, etc. But I'll continue to look. Thanks
