Default Carb question Please HELP!

Okay so i am cleaning my carbs because the bike was running badly through the 4k-7k range and I have everything working properly and cleaned except on carb #1 the port by the main jet is plugged and I can't seemed to get it unplugged. What is the purpose of this port and would it being plugged be causing my problem? I can't find anything about it in my manual...
by the screwdriver is the port that is plugged... thanks!

you can try a can of carb spray, a carb cleaner wire set or compressed air.

Isn't that the pilot jet? There's main and pilot jets. Pilot causes issues below 7k or so, so it makes sense that your issue is there.

If you want to get real fancy, you could just order entirely brand new pilot jets and a jet kit. Nothing like a fresh start to guarantee performance gains!

that is not the pilot jet. i believe that is the overflow passage for the floatbowl. dont quote me on that, but i can tell you with certainty that is not the pilot jet, nor is it removable. it is pressed in. the main jet and emulsion tube screws in to the middle, and the smaller pilot jet screws into the other side of the main. as far as the jet kit idea goes, i can say that unless you know what you are doing, and are prepared to remove and rebuild and replace and retune your carbs several times... you are highly unlikely to see any performance gains over stock. remember that these bikes were designed by guys with nearly unlimited resources and a lot more intelligence than you or i. the only time that i would jet, would be to compensate for a change in airflow that i bike has seen. and as far as changing the size of the pilot jet, there is no reason to. you will not get a new pilot jet in a jet kit, and unless you broke it, your stock one should be fine. the pilot jet is not used by the carburetor unless the bike is at idle.
