Default Can't get carbs seated all the way......

Fought with this all morning. Left side of carbs will seat onto the manifold, while the right side are about 1/8-1/4 from seating all the way. I can get the right side pretty close, then the left side is off. What the heck!!

Yeah, they can be fun like that. Try a light coat of motor oil on the outside of the carbs that seats in the manifold. Also the hose clamps must be positioned correctly or they will contact the carb body not letting it seat. The latter is likely what the problem is. The repair book shows the propper positioning of these clamps so you dont have to rely on trial and error. Hope that helps.

I'll add that you have to make sure the clamps are plenty loose. When this happened to me, I found that loosening the clamps with a couple of turns of the screw really made a difference.

Finally got around to this. Ended up taking each boot off the carb and test fitting it on the manifold. It was clear to me the last one on the right was not installed correctly. So realignrd everything and POP,they were seated. Bike runs and doesn't leak gas like before.
