To bore or not to bore.
Tearing my engine down to change the trans in it, and since im ognna have it apart i was gonna go ahead and re-ring it, and new bearings if needed and was wondering if anyone out there has bored thier f2? Im having mixed opinions here on wether or not its worth it. Some say Ill notice a change in power other say I wont. Im only talking about like .10 or .25 over. Any opinions here.?

RE: To bore or not to bore.
Over-boring the cylinders will mean bigger pistons meaning more power. Bore, means the size of the cylinders and psitons.
Stroke means how far vertically, and how tall the cylinders are.
The more you have of both, the more power you have.
How much more?
That's something you'll have to ask about and calculate.
The thing you don't want to do is overbore too much. This will make the cylinder walls so thin, they'll be more easily warped and damged by heat.
If I were you, I would simply install a full exhaust system, and a carb kit upgrade, and do some work to the air-box, meaning a less restrictive filter.
Don't fit a 900 engine in the chassis. The chassis wasn't built for it, and unless you can find a cheap, and good engine, the cost is not worth it.

RE: To bore or not to bore.
Too much work for a 900 engine. Was only thinking like I said .25 over MAXX.. boring is about 60 bucks a cylinder cause i know the guy at the machine shop. Then the pistons are 33 a piece and the rings will cost 116.00 Found uot today when I tok it al aprt I have a head gasket blown, with none of the usual signs except dark around the 4th cylinder ouside the engine. That might be the power loss I started having. I prob wil just rebuild with re-ring the thing and call it good. It has enough power.
