900 RR with 945 Big Bore Kit
My first post here, hopefully it will be the first of many. I stumbled up on this forum while looking for a motor for a 900 RR. I have had a 929 and enjoyed it, but recently began looking for a new bike. I ran up on a very nice 1995 900 RR that had some damage to the motor. It would start and run but there was a very loud banging in the top end, I went ahead and bought the bike with the intentions of putting a rebuilt motor into it, however I ran into one that I have purchased and should have ready by the weekend. My question is this. About how much power should I expect from these mods and is there anything else I will need to be looking out for to replace because of these mods. The motor is a 900 with the 945 big bore kit. (at least that is what the paperwork says). It has ported heads and the valves have been modified and has the crank and rods out of a 98. I have the shop work sheet for everything that was done to it, however Im not 100% sure about what kind of power I should expect or if I need to look to start modifying anything else to make sure I am not constantly breaking something.
