battery dying

Default battery dying

any easy ways to check the rectifier, regulator, other alternator components to see what is wrong? thanks everybody...

Get a good meter and follow the directions in the service manual (check the service manual thread at the top of the general tech section)

Pretty sure its your r/r. Common things to go bad on our bikes.

hey bro i am haveing the same prob,i have a 94 and i have a new battery and i can ride for a little bit and the battery will die as sone as turn it off and i has just shut the bike down on the highway to,i have changed the rectifer and it still does the same thing i was told it was a bad magneto,i am changing it this weeked i will hit u up and let u know if it works

delexan, it sounds like you have a bad R/R. Mine did the same thing. The manual is very specific about the type and brand of meter to check the R/R, though. I just took mine to the Honda shop and they checked it for me for free and told me it was toast. The service guy didn't even try and sell me one!!! He told me to check out ebay...lol. Buy an aftermarket one with cooling fins if you do.
