Cant figure out timing

Cant figure out timing
I am trying to do the timing on my bike with the camshaft and crankshaft. I can not figure out the timing marks on the piece that you can see when you have generator igniton pulse cover off. I do not know how to tell where the marks are, I have the manual and can not figure this out, please help!
