Another Battery Question
Well it's more than just the battery. I put a new one in, bike started right up. I shut it off, came inside and changed, went back out, fired it up again and went for a ride.Rode for about an hour and then for some damn reason stalled it at a stop sign, wouldn't start back up. Pop started it and got home. Now I'm pissed.
I have the same problem except I can't bump start it. I had a problem with it last week charged it and ran for a week. Went on a trip and broke down on the freeway. I have a volt meter and mine reads 11.6 volts so not sure but the ligts are bright not very dim.
Thanks guys, I'm going to have a friend w/ a voltage meter come over this week sometime and see if we can figure it out. Can anyone give me some instructions on how to test the R/R? I'm not sure I even know where it's located.

Kinzr13, to test the R/R, make sure the battery is good and test the voltage output at the battery terminals. There is a test procedure in teh Servcie Manual and you can find that in PFD form on line. (linked from several threads areound here) If the R/R checks out ok with the basic test, I would ride it for a short while to get it hot and re-test. If you find a problem, you should keep testing others tuff like the stator wires to make sure the R/R is actually bad and not something else. Note though that the R/R is a very common problem for CBRs.
So, I put a new R/R on, and the bike's been starting and running fine. However, I did notice a "hot smell" yesterday as it was warming up. I took my seat off and felt the R/R and it was warm, not too hot to leave my finger on, but noticeably warm.
Is this normal? My concern is that I had a problem other than a bad R/R and that if I don't fix that I'll burn this one up or something. Is that a legitimate concern? Thanks for all your help so far, and any input you have on this issue as well!
