After a Year finial figured out my tuning problem!
Its been a long road of trying to get this bike to run right. It was always lean at cruise speed. I did everything. Valve adjustment and such. Every jetting and needle combination, upping the pilot jet. Nothing seem to be right. One day I noticed it run a lot worse when it was windy. This is a 94 F2 that never had any plastic. I converted it to a street fighter when I first purchased it.
Long story short, air was rushing up into the air box pressurizing it since there was no plastic on it. It was cause it to go lean at 45+ MPH cruise speeds. I cut out some cardboard and slapped it in there to block the wind and the bike runs like a rape ape! Funny how the small things can make you pull out your hair.

That is kind of odd. I used to ride street fighter style for a month or so while I was painting parts of my bike and never noticed a problem.
I do know for a fact that the rubber piece is crucial. It keeps heat from the engine out of the air box, which will cause big problems. Either way, glad to hear you got it running well.
