figured it out
Well I tore the entire front of bike apart, and here is what I found. A piece of road tar with a small rock in it the had been trapped between fan blade and radiator. Evidentally the engine got hot enough to melt the tar and get it stuck in radiator fins. Then when the fan tried to start it was jammed. The motor got hot enough to melt the plastic of the fan where it mounts and finally the flat metal insert that is molded into the blade spun free of the fan blade. when I took it off the motor unit and the blade are no longer attached. A freak accident that will have me testing thefan for free movement every time I go to ride for a long time to come. The piece ofdebris was about the size of a pencil eraser. At least it didn't cause a hole in radiator.
When something like that happens it was ment to happen. I like to think if i get hit witha astroid and kills me that it was my time to go and there was no way around it and if someone intervens well we all have seen the movie "Final Destination". bum bum bummm its been a long night.
