Yeah, I definitely will - it might be a little bit, as first I'm gonna re-work the forks, and get my keyless ignition set up, but I'll get some taken eventually, for sure.

Just having a look at your clocks, am I right in thinking the oil temp bulb is a 1.7w wedge style bulb?

All of the instrument indicator lights are wedge-base bulbs, but I do not recall the wattage.

An update on work done this weekend, and Monday - I installed the new, shorter frame sliders on the race bike - I don't remember if I already mentioned this or not, but I decided to go with the shorter bits, since the longer they are, the more likely it is that they'll just snap off when you hit the pavement, especially if they catch a seem or crack in the track surface.
These are about an inch shorter than the extended ones I had on before, but they are plenty long enough to fully protect the motor, and provide significant protection for the fairings.

In this picture, you'll also see some yellow circles I drew in - these are places where I cut off various frame tabs and whatnot, that are no longer needed, like OEM fairing mounts, the flange that the horn mounted to, passenger peg mount tabs, etc.

The same was done to the other side, with the exception of the tabs that the exhaust hanger still needs to bolt to.
At this time, i also cut off the metal brackets that are for mounting the center-stand to.

Since the very rear of the subframe now only needs to hold my tail-mount bracket, I trimmed some steel back there, and ground the burrs off.

I drilled some holes in the rear of the batter compartment, in the area where the OEM tools used to be stored, and used zip ties through those holes, to re-locate the ICM, routing the harness around through the opening on the left side...

...this allowed me to also trim off the bracket that used to hold the ICM, as well as ditch the rubber sleeve, which gripped the ICM, and had slots for mounting on the now deleted brackets.

Got the "revised" instrument panel mounted. Next weekend, I will be going keyless, and will be installing an ignition toggle switch in that white triangular area at the bottom of the cluster.

And lastly, yesterday after work, I polished the exhaust hanger.

All told, with this weekend's work, removing the unneeded wiring and other electrical components, cutting unnessesary frame items, removing the front sprocket cover, the changes made to the instruments, and the shorter frame sliders, I shaved very close to another 3 lb. of weight from this bike.

That's ridiculous. How much weight have you lost now? Ha. Off the bike of course. Also, how much of a difference has it made?

JNS, how long are you gonna refer to this bike as an F2...? With your mods I would call it a JF2 .

I'm glad you asked that, since I haven't calculated it in a while!

With all the changes to the race bike, due to lighterweight components, removal of no-longer-needed items, AND taking in account the weight gained with items like the heavier shock, frame sliders, heavy duty engine covers, caliper relocation brackets, paddock stand spools & mounts, etc., the current weight reduction from stock form, is:
47 lb. 9.78 oz

That's not easily answered, as most of these changes took place gradually, one part or one change at a time. There were some items, like the battery, and the slip-on, where the weight reduced was significant enough to notice it immediately, but for the most part it's been gradual.

Now as far as the difference right now, I don't yet know, as I've not ridden it following a good bit of these changes, BUT, what's great about my current situation, is that NOW I have a stock bike (mostly) that I'm riding daily, so when I get on the race bike again, it will be VERY obvious, I'm sure!

Sick man, just sick. I'm simply amazed by the amount of thought that has went into your diet plan. Seems even though form follows function, you still manage to make it look good too.

For a while yet, since these mods are pretty typical for a race bike, but once I graft in an aluminum subrame, from a newer 600, and mount the appropriate race tail, maybe I'll go with F2-RR!

That mod will probably be put off until after the 2013 race season is over, unless I just happen to score what I need for insanely cheap.
