you need a motor and the wiring harness for that motor. cutting and welding is a definate yes. then you will have to make the rest of the f2 electrical componants work with the new harness. search for it on here. someone has done it and has posted pics.

ive been looking at a couple of 98 900 rrs for around 1500 to 1600 one just needs to be finished and come with all the parts and one need a new battery and the front fairngs installed but i dont know if i would trust those bikes cuz i am selling my cbr for 1400 and i want another bike quick. the swap i think might be too much for me to handle when i can just buy the real thing.

That's an old school swap. It used to be very popular so searching should turn up quite a bit of info. I used to know couple of guys that did it. They said it was very easy. Bear in mind that there's not much weight difference between the 2 bikes so you could just buy a 900RR and have same performance. Just my .02

Then stick an RR motor in there then. Did you search? There has got to be TONS of information out there on that swap. I couldn't find squat on my swap. I just took a leap of faith and started cutting LOL.
