Hey i was lookin at my bike and noticed that the douche who had it before me cut the mounts for the fairing stay off. What do i do now? And while i was looking i saw that i had a puddle under my right fork!!!!!! WTF man, out of nowwhere? REALLY
Yeah - the 600rr fairings aren't going to line up with the factory fairing mount holes in the frame - you're going to have to create new brackets and mounts there. No one set way of doing it - will just have to figure that out once you have all the parts and pieces ready to roll. Fabrication skill is a must for that kind of work. Good thing about our bikes - steel frames mean you can tack-weld on a bracket pretty simply.

As far as the fork goes - if the prev owner used it as a stunt bike, the fork has taken a lot of abuse - stoppies and low-speed wheelies are hell on forks & seals. If it isn't brake fluid, then it is probably leaking oil out of the bottom bolt that holds the inner tube to the outer. You need to get a couple of 8mm copper washers, pull the fork tube out of the bike, turn it upside down, break the bolt loose, and replace the washer that is there. Torque the bolt back down to 17 ft/lb and put the front end back together.

You should probably do both of the forks at the same time, this probably resulted from a previous fork rebuild and they reused the washer that was there. That washer deforms as you tighten it, and if you take it out and reuse it, it doesn't fit exactly the way it did before.

Might need to add a little fork oil to the fork too to compensate for what was lost.

Yea im pretty handy when it comes to stuff like that, but its hard because i dont know what anything looked like stock bc he chopped alot of stuff of the bike.

The oil is coming from the seal, i lifted the dust seal and took a business card and kind of curled it aroung the forks to get iinto the seal and wipe out whatever crap was in there but no luck. I cant really find a walkthrough for the replacement of the seals either.

Thanks for all your help bro. Appreciate it. PEACE

Been looking at the F2 conversions extensively and this one turned out really well. I have been looking for something on the 07- 600rr fairings on a F2, just to see, but only found the fighter in the F2 gallery. Just curious if anyone has seen a F2 to the newer 600rr conversion or opinions on that one? I did come across one thread (https://cbrforum.com/forum/600-modif...1-tail-102256/) but the pictures weren't there any more (and it wasn't an F2).
